Forged in a burst of wanting to do something "different" in 2009, Ben Arp began writing under the name "Captive Six".

After a series of low run demo releases that are now out of print, Captive Six presents it's first release on Full System Shutdown.

Arp approached this EP as follows: "For 'Hyperbolic Chamber', I stripped out the guts of a bunch of the songs from my demo EPs. I was never happy with the production on those and after a major studio upgrade in early 2011 I was ready to start again and really showcase this project. It was suggested I rework some of the old tracks for my debut since I'd already been playing remixes of those versions at live gigs. So... that's exactly what I did."

What resulted from those sessions are four tracks showing Captive Six's newly found sound of a mixture of glitch, post dubstep and hip hop.

"I dug deep into my influences, which is something I'd never done before in my producing career. In the past I always wrote to fit a style that was expected of the band or project - but here I just sat down with a voice sample or a loop or midi sequence and build a flow or a beat around that base element."
